On the Beestenmarkt in the heart of Delft you will find Kobus Kuch, a trusted address since 1988 for those who love homemade apple pie and a warm welcome. The terrace catches the sun for almost the entire day and overlooks one of the city's most beautiful squares, with trees providing shade in the summer and leaving the facades open in the winter. On a fine afternoon, this is one of the busiest terraces in Delft, and not without reason.

The apple pie from Kobus Kuch has since achieved cult status. The staff at the adjacent cake shop Kobus & Saartje bake tens of thousands of slices annually, fresh and with plenty of cinnamon, and hardly a Delft resident or visitor walks by without starting on a piece. Those who prefer something savory can opt for elaborate sandwiches, soups, and a hearty meal salad. In the evening, the focus shifts to charcuterie boards, a good glass of wine, or a beer on tap. The menu has been deliberately kept simple; not ten types of pie, but the right basics are in order.

The atmosphere inside is homely and nostalgic, with wooden furniture, old photos on the wall, and staff who know the regulars by name. It is no place for fuss; you come for the conviviality, a conversation that lasts longer than planned, and a second slice of cake that you really didn't need. On Saturday afternoons, it is often busy with families and shoppers, while on a weekday morning, peace and quiet can be found. During the winter months, the rhythm revolves year-round around taking a seat inside at a window table with a view of the Beestenmarkt.

Kobus Kuch is located within walking distance of the Markt, the Oude Kerk, and the shopping streets of Delft. Anyone taking a stroll along the canals or just coming from the antique market can settle down here for a break. Moreover, for tourists, it is a logical first stop after arriving at Delft Centraal, as the station is less than a ten-minute walk away.

Kobus Kuch is located at Beestenmarkt 1, a few minutes' walk from the Markt and the station. You are welcome every day from 09:00; around 09:45, the fresh apple pie comes warm out of the oven. Unfortunately, reservations are not possible, but especially for smaller groups, you can often just walk in. The terrace is largely covered or equipped with parasols, and there are heaters and blankets for cold days.
