Café de V is one of those places where the evening can begin without complicated plans. You pull up a chair for a beer or a glass of wine, order the famous satay, and then find yourself still having a good time hours later. The café-restaurant has been a household name in Delft for about forty years and appeals to both regulars and new visitors.
From brown pub to bright conservatory
Inside, you can choose between different atmospheres. The brown pub has the warm, familiar character of a true neighborhood café, while the bright conservatory feels spacious and open. From April, the terrace boat will be added. Here, you sit directly on the Delft canal and look out over the historic Voorstraat.
This makes De V appealing in every season. During cold months, you seek out the cozy atmosphere inside, while on sunny days you want to sit outside by the water. On weekends, you can visit from the afternoon onwards; on weekdays, the café opens later in the day.
Saté de V and more pub classics
The satay has been one of De V's most famous dishes for years and is available with chicken or in a plant-based version. The menu also offers familiar choices such as burgers, spareribs, and steak, complemented by fish dishes, pasta, and smaller dishes to share.
So, you can come here for a simple bite with drinks, but also for a full dinner. The drinks menu features beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options. The atmosphere remains relaxed: good food is important, but the social character of the café is at least as much so.
Live music, Sunday Roast and groups
Café de V regularly organizes live music and other activities. Additionally, a rotating Sunday Roast is on the program on the last Sunday of the month. Check the agenda before visiting, as the lineup may change monthly.
De V also offers various spaces and packages for birthdays, graduation parties, company parties, and group dinners. Group options are generally available for groups of fifteen people or more and must be reserved in advance.
