De Biertuin Oost is the original location of the famous Amsterdam beer café. On Linnaeusstraat, it has been all about a simple combination that works perfectly for years: an extensive beer menu, generous comfort food, and a casual atmosphere where you can easily linger all evening.

From Amsterdam brewers to international classics

The beer menu changes regularly and offers dozens of beers on tap and in bottles. Local Amsterdam microbreweries stand alongside well-known Dutch, Belgian, and international names. Whether you prefer a crisp lager, a fruity wheat beer, a hoppy IPA, or a robust dark tripel, there is always something new to try.

If you don't know which beer suits your taste or dish, the team will be happy to help you choose. In addition to beer, wine, cocktails, soft drinks, and non-alcoholic alternatives are of course also served.

Rotisserie chicken and hearty burgers

The most famous specialty is the rotisserie chicken. The whole or half chicken comes straight from the spit and is traditionally served with homemade applesauce. The burgers also have a permanent place on the menu, including hearty smashed beef burgers and various vegetarian options.

To accompany your beer, you can choose from an extensive selection of snacks. Additionally, the menu features spareribs, salads, side dishes, and other no-nonsense classics. The food is generous, accessible, and designed to be paired with a cold glass of craft beer.

A regular meeting place in Amsterdam-Oost

The large terrace on Linnaeusstraat is one of the most famous features of De Biertuin Oost. From here, you have a view towards the Wereldmuseum and can easily walk to Oosterpark. The long tables make it easy to sit down with a group, but there is usually a spot to be found for a spontaneous beer as well.

Inside, the lively bar and informal decor create a true café atmosphere. Whether you pop in for a quick bite after a visit to the park, want to dine with friends, or stay at the bar until late: De Biertuin Oost deliberately keeps it cozy and no-nonsense.
