Amsterdam Roest is back in Oostenburg. After a few years of absence, the well-known meeting place reopened its doors in 2025 in the industrial building on Jacob Bontiusplaats. Steel, concrete, high ceilings, and a large waterside terrace form the backdrop for long lunches, lively dinners, and evenings that easily end later than planned.

An open kitchen where fire takes center stage

The kitchen combines recognizable dishes with international, French, and Mediterranean influences. The regularly changing menu features refined snacks, vegetable dishes, fish, and meat. Think of kimchi croquettes with gochujang, steak tartare, ravioli with mushrooms and Parmesan cheese, or a dry-aged ribeye from the grill.

From the open kitchen, you can see how many dishes are prepared over the fire. You can order individual courses, share various dishes, or enjoy an extensive meal with a chef's menu. Vegetarian and vegan options are standard on the menu, and dietary requirements communicated in advance are happily accommodated.

From coffee and lunch to wine and music

From Thursday through Sunday, you can take a seat at Roest starting at lunchtime. Later in the day, the atmosphere naturally shifts towards drinks and dinner. The extensive wine list, large bar, and various spaces invite you not to head home immediately after your meal.

Especially on Fridays, the evening gets an extra boost of energy when a DJ spins and the music gets louder. As a result, Roest easily moves with the moment: relaxing by the water during the day, enjoying an elaborate dinner in the evening, and having drinks at the bar later.

Industrial Amsterdam at Oostenburg

Roest consists of various spaces, including the main hall, the stage, the open kitchen, a studio, and an intimate wine room. In the summer, the spacious terrace on the quay is one of the biggest draws. The combination of industrial heritage, good food, and a relaxed atmosphere makes Roest a characterful destination in Amsterdam-Oost once again.
