Bar Bukowski

Bar Bukowski changes effortlessly with the time of day. In the morning, you pull up a chair for coffee and breakfast, the terrace fills up during lunch, and later in the evening, cocktails, beer, and music take over. This combination has made it a popular meeting place in Amsterdam-Oost for years.

Inspired by Charles Bukowski

The bar is named after the American writer Charles Bukowski, who was known for his raw stories about life, love, and nightlife. His idiosyncratic character is reflected in the decor, the menu, and the relaxed atmosphere. Yet, you don't have to be a literary connoisseur to feel at home here. Bar Bukowski is primarily a lively neighborhood spot where different types of visitors easily sit side by side.

Breakfast, lunch and drinks

During the day, you can visit Bukowski for breakfast, a hearty lunch, or simply a good cup of coffee. The menu offers both healthy and more substantial dishes, providing plenty of choice for a relaxed start to the day or an extended lunch break.

As the day progresses, the establishment increasingly takes on the character of a bar. Cocktails, craft beer, wine, and well-known bar snacks dominate the menu. On weekends, Bukowski stays open until deep into the night, and DJs and music regularly provide extra energy. This makes it a place where an afternoon on the terrace can easily turn into a full night out.

A regular meeting place in Oost

Bar Bukowski is situated right by Oosterpark and borders the lively Beukenplein. The location makes the bar suitable as a stop during a walk through Oost, but also as a starting point for an evening in the neighborhood. Inside, there is room for a small meeting, drinks with friends, or a larger group.

Various group options are available for birthdays, company drinks, and other gatherings. Additionally, there is a separate room with its own bar that can be rented for private events.
