Welcome to Burcht & Bier, the ultimate pub crawl through the historic heart of Leiden! Together, we’ll make our way past the city’s coziest pubs for a healthy dose of fun and cold beer. Cheers to an unforgettable evening, kicking off in style at the station and ending in the shadow of the Leiden Burcht! The starting gun sounds right opposite Leiden Centraal, where we gather at FREDDY’S for a much-needed first meal and the very first ice-cold beers. As soon as the atmosphere is right, we leave the station area behind and head towards the atmospheric, illuminated canals of the city center. From bustling waterside terraces to authentic, hidden brown pubs where stories flow freely: every stop brings a new beer and plenty of good times. As glasses clink and the journey draws us ever deeper into Leiden’s nightlife, we creep slowly but surely toward the historic finish. This is no ordinary walk; this is a legendary route from the station to the Burcht that we will (hopefully) remember for a long time to come.

After payment you receive an email with the link you use as host to set up the game. The game only starts when you press start; from that moment you have 12 hours. At each pub you check in once you are within 50 metres, and you stay at least 15 minutes per venue.
Which language are the quiz questions in?
The quiz questions are in English, and so are the story and the descriptions.
Do we need an app?
No. You play the game in the browser of your phone. The host needs mobile internet and location services to check in; players join by scanning the QR code on the host's phone.

About Leiden
Leiden is the Sleutelstad, and it is a city you must explore on foot. The water is never far away: the Oude Singel and the Witte Singel, bridges such as the Koornbrug, and Molen de Valk as the first landmark on the way from the station to the city centre.
